GLASS EXPERTS YOU NEED

Our Story
Gekoglass was established in April 2014 following 18 years of experience working in the glass and glazing industry. We decided it was time to do something that would give us more creative control over the products we produce, and with this in mind, Gekoglass was born.
We had the opportunity in the summer of 2014 to take a shop unit on Hanover Road in Scarborough where we spent three happy years. Following this we relocated the the newly refurbished Market Hall, when our lease expired we went back out onto the high street into a beautiful shop located on Bar Street in Scarborough. Unfortunately due to rising energy costs, rent increases and 'the death of the high street' we closed the shop in June 2023. However, this was not the end of our business journey and in April 2024 we celebrated ten years in business.
The office and workshop is a hub of activity every day, where we take time on each and every telephone call, email and on line order to ensure you get the best service. We produce all our decorative items on a made to order basis. Each and every item receives the same attention to detail. We source quality materials to create these pieces and we consider these materials to be the best products available today. This allows our team to achieve superior results with no compromise on quality.

MEET THE TEAM
Paul
Paul started work as a trainee glass cutter in 1997 for a local window manufacturing company when he finished an art course at college. He worked his way up the ladder throughout his 18 years of service.
Paul has worked with overlay lead, decorative bevels, Georgian bars, duplex bars, manufactured double glazed units, manufactured frames and been out on sites fitting and repairing windows and doors. Over the years he's has carried out a lot of manual glass cutting too!
Paul has been a partner at gekoglass since the start, back in 2014 and the very first business plan. It is Paul you will see out in our well stocked gekoglass van, carrying out all the UPVC window and door repairs, delivering our handmade items, fitting glass splashbacks and anything else we can squeeze into the diary!

Paul has pushed the growth of gekoglass over the last ten years from its humble beginnings of simply offering glass splashbacks, to using his artistic skills to create stunning overlay lead panels and having the skills and experience to be able to offer on site repairs to traditional stained glass panels. With his undisputed knowledge of all things glass he can also offer amazing UPVC window and door repairs. With 28 years experience, and still counting, if Paul doesn’t know the answer (relating to glass and glazing) then it just isn’t worth knowing!
When not at work, you can find Paul in the workshop tinkering with fused glass, completing a plethora of home DIY projects we just keep finding for him or working out in his home gym.

MEET THE TEAM
Lindsay
Lindsay has been a partner at gekoglass since 2014 and the very first business plan too! She will be the voice you hear on the other end of the phone when you call gekoglass.
Lindsay’s background is hospitality, estate agency and Health & Safety, wow what a combination. Growing up in pubs, working in bars, restaurants, offices and factories over the years has given her an amazing amount of general knowledge and impeccable customer service skills.
Lindsay makes sure the day to day running of the business happens and keeps Paul's diary as full as possible. She runs all of our social media platforms, keeps our website up to date and looking amazing, keeps our accountant happy, packs and posts all of our online orders, and she sorts out anything else that may crop up within the business.
When not at work, you can find Lindsay in the park walking Milo, the naughty Patterdale, learning new Yoga moves in her home gym, on a rainy day she can be found playing computer games or curled up on the sofa watching anything Sci-fi or Fantasy. She also enjoys a good book, at the moment the obsession is Shannara (Terry Brooks).
